General Questions

What's the difference between Customer Service and Technical Support roles?

Customer Service roles focus on helping shoppers, Amazon Business members, and drivers with a wide range of queries - from order issues and account questions to delivery support. Technical Support roles are more specialized: you'll help customers troubleshoot Amazon's digital devices and services, including Kindle, Echo, Fire TV, Prime Video, and Alexa. Technical Support roles require a stronger working knowledge of computers, software, and technical troubleshooting - but both roles are rewarding ways to make a real difference for customers every day.

Is there training for these roles?

Absolutely. Amazon provides on-the-job coaching and mentoring from day one, along with both self-service and instructor-led training to help you grow and succeed in your role. You're never on your own.

Are remote customer service jobs available?

Yes! You can deliver Amazon's world-class customer service from the comfort of your home or in one of our friendly, bustling offices.

Online Assessment

How many online assessments are there?

The assessment includes three exercises:
  • Customer Service Associate Role Overview: Gives you an overview of the role and helps you decide if you'd like to continue
  • Working with Customers Exercise: Presents common situations faced by our associates and gives you the opportunity to show how you'd respond
  • Work Styles Exercise: Explores your work preferences and approach to completing tasks
We'll also be looking at your language proficiency in some of your responses - but don't worry. We're looking for authentic answers that show how you'd help our customers. Answer honestly and in your own words - this is your chance to show us who you are!

What happens during the assessment?

The assessment has several parts:
  1. Identity verification: You'll need a PHL Government-Issued ID
  2. System check: We'll verify your browser, internet connection, camera, and microphone
  3. Assessment modules: You'll complete job-related scenarios and questions about your work preferences

Why do I need a camera and microphone for the assessment?

The camera is required for identity verification and to ensure the integrity of the assessment. Your microphone may be needed for certain assessment modules. Both are essential parts of our secure, fair assessment process - they help make sure every candidate has the same experience.

How long does the assessment take?

The complete assessment typically takes between 45 and 60 minutes. We recommend setting aside enough uninterrupted time to complete it in one sitting so you can give it your best.

How should I prepare for the assessment?

A little preparation goes a long way! Test your camera, microphone, and internet connection. Find a quiet space with good lighting where you can focus without interruptions.

Is there anything I should avoid during the assessment?

We want every candidate to have a fair and equal opportunity - so to keep the playing field level, please avoid sharing assessment content, taking the assessment in casual settings, or using unsupported browsers.

Why are there rules against copying and pasting during the assessment?

These measures help us maintain the integrity of the assessment and ensure that every candidate is evaluated fairly under the same conditions.

Can I pause the assessment?

Yes! Don't worry if you need a short break - your progress saves automatically, so you can pick up right where you left off.

The assessment page is blank or won't load. What should I do?

We're sorry to hear you're having trouble - let's get that sorted! For the best experience, we recommend using Google Chrome and making sure pop-ups are enabled. If you're still having trouble after trying these steps, please contact us
